Hey guys, I have been playing with the different tunes and comparing Stock Throttle vs Linear Throttle.

So far, I am favoring the Stock Throttle for daily driving because it seems much more responsive in my Automatic where as the Linear Throttle the transmission tries to downshift before the power comes on in current gear. I could imagine Linear Throttle would probably be good in a Manual car.

What are your preferences and why?

I like LT and my car is a stick... seems like the way it should have been. Maybe you're onto something with the ST for auto and LT for stick theory.

Yea, i've been playing around a bit with the Stage 2+ Sport, and ive noticed that while in LT, and daily driving in "D" i would slowly start pressing the gas, and before power came on, the car wanted to downshift.
While in ST, there is enough power in every gear while in "D". Of coarse while using the paddles, its ok in every gear, but still seems delayed.

Like you said, Manual car might have a different experience all together.
My conclusion is I love ST much more. Even though its all software controlled, it Just seems like there is less turbo lag and engine is way more responsive.

I have a MT and just installed the AP yesterday. I am not sure I am digging the way the power comes on in ST, I am thinking of trying LT and see how that feels. Right now it just feels like nothing...nothing....nothing....holy shit!!!

Yes. lol I love it.

HERES a new trick i learned, with my Auto and ST map. Say your in 4th going 50mph, Gently press the gas, and downshift to 3rd, then give it more gas. It seems to have WAY more power and quicker then if you leave it in 3rd and just gun it.
This works for any gear.

Yes stock throttle all the way. I did try linear throttle and it felt like driving Honda civic with cable controlled throttle. I do like the holy shit kick at about 50% pedal

higher maps, LT is good but in sport and Drive I use ST.... LT maps I think are made for MT

I have AT and use linear throttle, works great. But then again I drive it in manual mode 100% of the time.

My car is manual, and I use LT with my Stage 1 Aggressive + FMIC map. I like it a lot. It feels more like a standard mechanical throttle, rather than a drive-by-wire setup. The only thing took a little getting used to is having to press the throttle deeper to blip it when downshifting.

I'm 6MT and over of 400whp and I prefer ST mapping. It's just a lot more fun IMO.

Get an eTune from PTF or someone else. They'll set up the response exactly how you want it. I now have real quick throttle response but the power really comes higher in the RPMs. I didn't like the angry bull feeling of the ST and the LT felt too sluggish off the line. About perfect now and feel like I've got good control of the car...then again I'm no ace driver either.

I'm gonna have to drive a Cobb car one day. I see lots of threads about the different throttle feels and it would be interesting to be able to relate to the what is being said.

I drove with both and like the ST for my car. The LT seemed a little strange. It didn't feel quite connected on the auto. I know it's supposed to be like a real throttle but it doesn't feel quite right.

i have tried both stock and LT with alpina flash and LT feels much better,
ST creates too much of whooosh sound and power surge b/w gear shifts. with out the alpina flash i liked the ST better.

get yourself a FMIC and use the s1 FMIC maps fing great!

Thanks for the reply. I'll probably find a local member and try it out. I'm running with an FMIC, DPs, DCI on a Procede. I don't have any wants to switch. I was just curious in experiencing the different throttle responses in the cobb.

I prefer ST. The only other mod that I have is an DCI. ST definitely feel better. The LT feels kinda sluggish in my AT.

Is a personal choice depending on the use. There is no best or worse

6MT here too. When I first tried the LT (St2+ Aggressive) I didn't like it and went back to ST. However, in the last month I started messing with E85 and it's cleaned up my timing and I decided to try the LT again, and now I love it. Way more predictable and easy to daily drive, plus the E85 makes the car just idle better and shift smoother. I haven't tracked it yet using the COBB, but when I do, I'll be using the LT for the same reason OneThreeFive stated above.

sorry for info overload...

For me, I like ST much more for the punch of the mark... but on the aggressive maps I like LT so I can punch it with traction control partially off.
