335d Loss Of Power
This evening I have noticed that the power delivery on my 2006 335d has changed.
The symptoms are that the first turbo doesn't appear to be boosting and so I am only getting that kick when at about 2500 rpm. The car is coming up to 94k miles. From what I can tell this can be anything from vacuum hoses, red boost pipe or actuators. Is it worth me changing the vacuum hoses and is there a comprehensive guide how to do this somewhere? Any advice welcome. Cheers |

Hi matey i might be wrong (if I am apologies in advance)
You might have some form of boost leak ? Is the car throwing out excess some when you're trying to boot it ? |

Had a look around though and I am certain that the red boost pipe needs replacing as there appears to be w lot of oil there. Going in for a diagnostic scan tomorrow so hopefully that will shed some light on it. |

Had it into a mechanics today and there is nothing showing on the diagnostic machine.
Not sure whether to bite the bullet and take it to BMW. Initial diagnostic charge with them is £99 though. |

The red boost pipe won't cause this issue, although it does need sorting.
There are updated actuators which are reasonably priced, or it could just be the vacuum pipes as you say.. I'd be tempted to take it into a knowledgeable indy as BMW generally like to just change parts. There's a well regarded one in Stockport (the name of which escapes me), which will be pretty close to you. |

Thanks for the responses.
The mechanic has managed to trace the problem since my last post. Not had a proper chat with him but appears to have been a hole causing a leak in one of the vacuum pipes (I think) Car is pulling well again now. |
