Question Are all Sport MF buttons interchangeable?

I'd just like some confirmation on this. Depending on the model and features, some MF buttons serve a different purpose (ie. M3 'M' button, Idrive vs. non Idrive). The M3 MF buttons appear to be interchangeable with my 335i, same coupler connection.

So as long as the two cars are both pre-lci/lci, are all sport MF buttons interchangeable across all models? The only difference being just in the symbols?

I would believe, i swapped my wheel with another sport wheel and all the buttons worked except for one.

I think it was just a bad harness or something since everything else is identical and works fine

Hey, I read your post on steering wheel buttons. I just bought a 2007 M sport steering wheel (manual) and I was wondering if it will work on the 2011 Non sport car? The new wheel has all the same buttons except it has star/diamond buttons instead of the reciruclate/audi source buttons

Will I be Ok?

Can you post a pic of your current steering wheel? I'm not sure if the non-sport wheel is different on the 335i...

The non sport wheel on the 335 has a diamon airbag

And I got an entire new wheel from a 2007 with this layout

Some people said the airbag plugs did not line up (some notch difference)...curious if anyone has had that issue?

Unfortunately, that will not work. The sport wheel multi-function buttons are not interchangeable with the one currently on your car and vice versa. Only different varieties of Sport MF buttons can be interchanged.
