My rule if thumb, if going to waste time go gloss black, if BBK came in a color so be it.

It only looks good if the pistons are facing the outside. It looks cheesy when it's a single or dual piston on the backside of the caliper as it is with most BMW cars, including even M3's. But you get these little 135i guys with full six piston calipers. LAME.

Stock calipers in red look awful. I'd only do black.

+1 on calipers in Black - painted black looks a whole lot better than the lumps of rust that BMW standard calipers turn into in a short time.

While you're in there, don't forget to paint the rotor hats also - they rust in short time & look like a$$...

This is what I was thinking. BMWs calipers often just are not something I would want to draw attention to, the assembly is ugly. But by and large, if the color works with or ties into the rest of the car it's just fine.

Went with black on my car. Looks infinitely better than the rust that used to be there.

Exactly what I did - nothing cheesy about black vs. rust - black blends in & is not noticeable at all

Except in the case of Plastidip, it actually is reversible. I'm yet to see a dipped car look good, but if people are doing it just for a fun project, power to them. I'd never do it to mine, however.

Plastidip definitely has its uses, though. Did chrome grilles on an X5 in it, came out looking good and holds up great. I'll probably do my winter wheels in it to protect them from the road salt and whatnot this year. Looks fine on smaller pieces when done right and with a gloss coat.

I've been considering powder coating mine either black or blue. Probably black.

Red face orange??

I don't think they look cheesy as long as the colour works well with the paint on your car. I'm thinking of a very dark orange to go with my space gray e90. thoughts?

I'm sure the white would look good if your car is modified a little, but keeping them clean would be a nightmare.

Exactly. That's mostly why I haven't done it. I'll probably just do black.

black or metallic gunmetal work well. any bright color just illustrates further how small stock calipers are.

I painted mine black just because they were really rusted. Used G2 paint and also caliper decals which some may not like but I definitely do. It breaks up the black well in my opinion. Not the best pic I have but this is after I switched the decals to "BMW Performance" instead of "///M Performance" which they were originally
