E93 Key Fob & Homelink DIY

Hey folks,

I'm looking at performing a DIY retofit on my e93 convertible, but it's rather difficult to find a replacement homelink mirror for the vert. Apparently on the E93, the key fob remote atenna is built into the RFZ module.

I've searched through the homelink DIY guides, and while there is a ton of them out there, I have yet to come across a solution that shows how to move the E93 atenna to a replacement homelink mirror. Without it, I'm assuming I'd lose my keyless access.

Does anyone have an idea if you can remove that RFZ module from my original and install it into a homelink mirror from a sedan or coupe?

Or for that matter, would an E46 convertible mirror work instead?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I believe all of the newer homelink mirrors have the antenna built in. The best way would be to plug one in and try it before you get too carried away. It may just work as is.

I'll look into it, thanks for the tip. Are the antenna now no longer in the A-pillar?
