Orange peel treatment preview :)

We are busy detailing my brand new F31 335i Alpine White. Because BMW is known for the severe orange peel in the paint. We started yesterday with an orange peel treatment.

Left you can see untreated paint, the right panel has been treated.

The difference is about 5 micron, so pretty effective.

Nice work and impressive results. It's impressive how much of an improvement can be done on the rather poor factory finish.

Todays water based paints dry less even than the 'old' solvent based paints. Due to to uneven drying the orange peel occurs.

Does this happen to metallic paints too?

Yes because all paints are finished with the same type of clear coat.

Awesome work. Very labor intensive and time consuming, but the end result is worth it.
