Maybe at high speeds it settles under your air ducts feeding air more directly into your air box for the car to run cooler. I'd say over 70+ mph or for the track it would help around 1%. Most of these are for looks or false hope of massive gains in hp or torque. Take our your charcoal filter and toss an oiled filter in over the paper oem one with these. You'll get better air flow and under $100 it's better than ebay "electric supercharges"

It also helps channel cooler air into your factory snorkel rather than air hitting a hot radiator and then flowing into your snorkel.

I originally just bought them because I like the look, but since installing them I have seen ~1 mpg increase in my efficiency. Granted, probably 80% of my driving is highway.
