TiAg 335xi - Plasti-Dip Window Trim. Pic inside.
Well... after months of pondering and putting it off I finally got rid of that ugly chrome window trim.
I elected to remove the top trim piece... came of very easily but not sure how many times you can pull that thing off as a few tiny bits of the plastic adapters cracked. The bottom side I used blue 3M tape and ran a 1/4" gap on the bottom/door side and ran the tap onto the rubber window seal on the top. Wrapped the side mirrors in small plastic bags and tape. Used paper and blocked off the rest of the side/roof of the car. I got too wrapped up in the project to take pics but here's the final product. I think it looks so much better having stared at that chrome every day with disgust! Particularly looks good on the titanium silver paint. There are a few spots that it lifted on the bottom window trim and I'll likely redo a couple doors but for now it's fine. I'm going to get the non-aerosol plasti dip and touch-up those spots to see how it works. Anyways... let me know if you have any questions. Not a challenging job at all.

Agreed! I have noticed some rough edges and a few spots i didn't lay it on thick enough but I'm going to get the original non aerosol and see if I can touch it up that way rather than redo sections. Either way... huge difference.

Good idea I have a few touch up spots as well and need to do that. It gets a lil messy and uneven if you keep respraying.

Let this stuff dry between coats (20-30 minutes) and put on several heavy coats. Then... don't mess with it for 3-4 hours. Let it dry!!! You'll kick yourself if you pull at it and lift it off the chrome. I did.
