M-perf. exhaust...can it be louder?
Hey so i got my car finally...love it and the m exhaust does sound really really good but i wish it were a tad bit louder for my likings...anyone ever thought of removing that resonator before the muffler or has anyone done this already...
i know i could just get a catless DP but then i think it might be too loud...i dunno...

It would be great to post some vids since there aren't many out there. Good to know that you have one since I don't think it's a hot seller compared to the e90 performance exhaust.

I just installed the m performance exhausts on my 2012 640i and i want it to be louder, thinking of getting a downpipe and a tune. I heard removing the resonator will make the booming sound of the exhausts rattle through the cabin

I wouldn't do that, I'd look at getting a different catback. Those components are there for a reason, and while they may be too quiet it will also be what reduces vibration and drone.

+1 Does anyone have M Perf exhaust with a downpipe? I'd love to hear what it sounds like. Cuz I have the M Perf exhaust, and I can barely hear it from within the car. And once the car warms up, it becomes even quieter.

Sorry, but you will have to wait a little bit more, because bmw in europe is changing their computer system and until 6/3/13 they don't dispatch any orders, and my downpipe is still at custom clearnce, already for 14 days.
But I hope that after 6/7/13 I will have it installed and ready to shot. And I almost forgot to write, that I will post my whp figures as well |

OP - you might try leaving the exhaust flap open (see the DIY subforum on how). Given our cars spend most of their time under 3000RPM you might get the extra noise you're looking for that way.

Can't believe how many people think it is ok to delete the catalytic converter. It's there for a reason. Pollution.
