Matt Titanium or Aluminium? Blackline? Deck Spoiler?
Just looking for opinions from the good folk on here.
I'll be collecting my Le Mans Blue 325i on the 3rd of January. :rocks: As some of you may know, Brushed Aluminium was deleted from the M Sport pack here in Europe recently. However, I can have it retro-fitted by my dealer at a cost of about Euros 400.00. Do you think I should do that, or put up with the standard Matt Titanium finish? Also, the dealer is suggesting I shou,d have the deck spoiler fitted - reckons it will go nicely with the M Sport body kit - any thoughts? Final question is, what do you think of the Blackline lights on a Le Mans Blue car? All comments , positive or negative would be appreciated.

Personally I wouldn't pay extra to get the alu trim. Also, I'd skip the rear spoiler too.
I think I've seen photos of a Le Mans blue with the blacklines in the gallery section. Found: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...line#post62984 Looks good, IMO. |

Spoiler is between $400-$700 depending on your dealer, I'd say anything less than $500 is a good price. I paid way too much for mine, but it was worth it.

Well you got money off of MSRP and remember it only comes painted in three colors, so you need to pay more if it isn't one of those colors. I think it's black, red, and white? or maybe silver?

I have the brushed aluminum trim in my 330i. The trim looks great, but I have found that it dents very easily. Perhaps, this is why the factory has deleted this trim option for the Euro market. I have found that the large flat piece of aluminum that runs across the dash to be very vulnerable to any passengers carying cases, purses, etc.. In previous BMWs with wood trim , I did not have had any problems with scratches or dents. |

That may be the reason for deletion alright Derek.......
A scratch might be fixable, a dent would be a problem I guess.....: I'm so undecided, I really like the concept of brushed aluminium versus the standard plastic matt titanium......... What to do? I think I'll go with the blackline and deck spoiler anyway........ Still need to decide on the trim then............

I wouldn't go for the deck spoiler, but that's my opinion, I think it looks sticked on and kinda cheap..
I've got the titan finish and I think it looks great! It looks clean and you can hardly tell it's plastic! Otherwise retrofit the aluminium.. |

If you have dents in your dash like I have, you will not be too pleased. That's why I'm looking into doing a swap for walnut trim as long as the cost isn't outrageous.
Interesting that you are considering black line taillights. IMO they do not enhance the car, but they would make your car unique. Over here in NA, all E90s have red flashing tail lights instead of yellow. I have swapped mine for the Euro lights. With respect to the factory spoiler, I did see an example at the BMW introduction. Unless you have seen an actual car with the spoiler installed, I would suggest that you hold off on ordering. Yikes, my dealer just called to give me a quote to supply the walnut trim : $1559 plus taxes !!! Guess I'll live with the dented al trim. Good luck with your purchase. In any event, after owning six previous BMWs, I can truly say that the E90 is the best yet !! I look forward to every drive. Cheers. |

This will be my fourth BMW , and I am a fan for life.
Thats expensive for the walnut !!!! I haven't seen the spoiler, but the dealer reckons it may go well with the M Sport kit...... I had clear / red rears on my E46 323 and I liked that look I must admit, I guess thats why I'm hankering for a similiar look on my E90........

Aiden, I've got Aluminium trim & I love it.
Other members may well have had problems with smacking bags, zips, other objects & the seat belt buckle into their trim. Luckily, I haven't & I'm glad I went for it instead of the standard Matt titanium trim, which I think looks 'plasticky'. You can't stop people smacking their stuff into your trim, but you can take a few simple precautions to stop it happening- stick their stuff in the boot, move the passenger seat further back, use the seat belt clip to keep the buckle away from the trim on the door', don't let them in the front of the car or don't let them in the car at all! Here's Nathan's 'Starbucks thread' which shows some good photos of his Aluminium trim. |
