Meisterschaft GTC (EV Control) Install
Fired up, had my Meisterschaft exhaust installed yesterday at RRT Racing in Sterling, VA. Big shout out to Mike at RRT and Micky at GTHaus, both of whom were awesome to work with. They explained everything I needed to know regarding the differences between the exhaust options, and helped me with all aspects of my purchase/install.
I went with the Meisterschaft GTC exhaust with EV control, LXR pipe, and 102mm tips. After some debate and PMing with folks who had various exhausts, I chose the Meisterschaft because I liked the brutal loudness of the Meisterschaft coupled with the ability to close the valves. For those of you that helped with my decision, I appreciate ya. I dropped my car off in the morning at RRT and returned that afternoon. The install was worry free...the guys at RRT removed my OEM exhaust in one piece (and shipped it out to a buyer this morning for me) and installed the Meisterschaft. I was really pleased with the fact that they were diligent and didn’t rush the job. The ride home was awesome; I love how aggressive the exhaust sounds (I also now have a greater appreciation of how subjective and individualistic the exhaust note is for different folks, but for me this is perfect). I didn't do a before and after dyno (I know) but butt dyno notices a difference...my M5 definitely feels like it is pulling harder. I’ve attached a picture and a short clip of the sound. Again, big thanks to Micky at GTHaus and Mike at RRT! Last edited by Un Gato Malodoro; 04-18-2013 at 04:20 PM.. |

Very nice. I just ordered mine. I have a question. When you have it open, is it obnoxious or just right? Second, does the valve open to a " open close" setting or can you adjust by the time you hold the remote button?
Thank you |

The sound change from valve closed to open is not linear. It takes about 7 seconds for both valves to open. I would say that after opening for 2 seconds the sound is maybe 80-90% of maximal loudness. When the valves are closed they are holding back a tremendous amount of noise which to my ears is as quiet as stock but a hint more exotic. Cold start in a garage is crazy loud! Hope this helps.

I agree with everything said. Inside the cabin it never sounds too loud, even all the way open. Closed is just about stock.
