Why not the C350 4Matic?
I'm far far away from making a decision but I'm curious to know, why not the C350 4Matic. At $47,700 that's dangerously close to 328i xDrive money with 302HP motor as a bonus.
The obvious cons are: - no annual maintenance - lower residuals vs. 3 series - fuel economy - slightly higher lease APR - vinyl seat (ARTICO) |

Much like when I got my E90, I just didn't feel the C-Class had the same level of handling and overall driving feel as the 3 series. I test drove one again before I chose the F30 and still felt the same way.

I test drove a C350 coupe and was rather underwhelmed. The car was a 4 Matic and the rear end felt very loose. Don't like the steering or suspension.

in fact when i test drove the c350 i quite lk the performance of it, cuz it had lk the dynamic handling package and staggered wheels which the f30 didnt have, but a BIG but, the c350 feels so heavy, yes a 328xi is down on horsepower, but look at the 0-60 and quarter miles time. The 328 outperform the c350 6.1 vs 5.7 14.1vs13.9. Last but not least the c350 is gonna get a big facelift soon. so yeah lol |

Ever since I can remember I liked the Mertz vs anything else. Even when I was looking for a car, I was considering the C350 for almost 2 months and I was very close to buying it. I got a sweet deal on it too, pretty much the same monthly as I am paying on my 328, but with 3 years lease vs the 4 year that I have with BMW.
However, something didn't feel right. The last car I tested was the Bimmer and I knew right away what I wanted. I still like the Mertz, the way it looks, the features it offers inside... but I couldn't give up the head-up display, not for anything the Baby Benz has to offer. Furthermore, yes it has more HP, but at higher RPM and for a 3.5l engine it has almost the same torque (again at higher RPM) as the BMW's 2l turbo. In the Bimmer I feel safer. And last but not least, I was able to customize the BMW more than I could with the Benz and thus it made my car (and all of our cars) close to being unique. The only thing that I hate about BMW Canada is not bringing the exact car that the Germans have, with all the features. We are missing A LOT... |
