Key Lost - Left with one- Wondering... every night if someone will steal my car

Hey there,
I recently went out and lost my key. I have another one but i lost it in a jacket which contains my i.d. Now i m freaking out. Im afraid someone will come steal my car from me +_+. I saw in the car manual to get it at service centre +They could disable the lost one. How much will it cost to have another one. I saw it was expandable to four. I hope they don't pull me 200$ and more.... Have someone had dealt with that issue. Thanks

Well if replacing the keys is more than your deductible for a stolen car...

There won't be, but maybe try talking to your insurance company and see. I imagine you can file a claim for it, and they may be interested in helping since your car being stolen would suck for them most...

So, just to cancel out the current keys and then to reprogram the one key you have and the system will cost $700?
That's freaking insane charging.
Then another $300 to get a replacement.

I don't think I feel any more secure with these overly complex and overly priced techno-keys.
And I can easily live without "comfort" access.

I guess even with the plain old mechanical key, in your situation it would still be costly because you'd have to have the door locks re-keyed and then have the starter key cylinder replaced.

Try your insurance company. I'm very interested to hear what they say.
If you jacket was stolen with the key in it, then your comprehensive portion should cover the replacement and the recoding, minus your deductible.

Stolen key fob

Hi everyone and Happy Eastern(not for me thought)
My bag got stolen at work during a wedding ceremony(I run functions) on Good Friday and on the top of my cards, driving licence, personal licence, £250 cash, house keys, bike keys my spare car key fob is gone which is the biggest blow of all as I just been told it cost just under £500 to replace with both re-programming and it doesn't include the lock change if I'm not very keen on anyway worrying about damaging the door panel or something else during the process. Has anyone had similar experience in UK and if so would you let me know please?!

you have no other choice then to deprogram the lost key. It cost 150$cnd in montreal. If you want another its 300$(fob) + 90$(prog)+ 125$(fob key) of programming. However the guy could still open your door but cannot run the engine.
God bless
