Late production change to the N20?

So I went to install my BMS stage 1 today.

I know it works on both N20 and N26.

From what I had read, at first all manuals were N20's. Then I read that later on in production N26's were replacing N20's, and so some people were seeing N26/6mts.

I was told the way to spot an N26 was the electric boost solenoid on top of the turbo.

So I got to do the install and the first sensor I am supposed to tap is not there. I take a few pics, figure I would send them to BMS. I looked at the pics and thought man, that is what the N26 solenoid is supposed to look like. WTF, do I have an N26?

Sure enough, Terry confirmed.

I either have an N26, or in my later production run of 7/12, they began using the N26 electronic solenoid on the N20.

When I looked up my VIN, it clearly states N20.

For those who don't know what to look for, see this pic, this is what your turbo will look like if you have the solenoid. If your VIN comes up N26, that's to be expected, but if you have an N20, then it might be interesting to share your build date.

So did you end up installing the tune with all the connectors? Because mine doesn't work and i have not the time to contact BMS yet and I suspect mine is the same as yours. 7/2012 production.

Yeah, went in fine. All the other connectors are where they should be, it's just the first one you leave unplugged. Terry replied to my email in less than five minutes. Taking pictures helped.

Yep, I will redyno when the new exhaust is put on. There are some other dynos posted and they so far all support BMS's claims.

Same here, believe they went to electronic wastegate on the N20 late in the summer.

If this is correct, what differences are there between N20 and N26? I thought that the wastegate was "it."

So I just checked my car and I found the same thing! My vin says n20 I ordered at late 6/12 so I guess it would be the around the same production time as yours(7/12).

Nope.

They posted a dyno on an N26 and the numbers were as good if not better than the early N20 dyno.

Cat back. Will be under $1000, 15-20% lighter than stock and has a standard option to bypass the muffler or add an electric bypass for extra $$$.
