Engine oil level

Just a quick one. Drove home early this morning. Car was started completely cold, no warnings came up but as a habit i checked the stats and engine oil was over max line completely onscreen and it said too high take to service.

I was not parked on a slope as such. Is this normal? It went down by the time i got home to max. Temp was 100c by this stage.

Has anyone else had this? Ive checked it a couple time before but its always been on max line. How good is accuracy of sensor?

Thanks

I'd keep a close eye on the readings. If it is not a sensor error/fault the other issue can be oil dilution, due to diesel getting in the oil.
