something weird
hi,didnt know where to put this so il try it here
i park my car 5years already every day on the same place for my job this evening,i go to my car like i do every day and i notice small spots on my paints my entire car is covered in rusty little spots and it looks as if someone took a grinder or welder and all the sparks have landed on my car they are burned in the paint and polishing the car helps, but it doesnt go away, the rusty color goes away but i still feel the spots in the paint the brown spots have even burned in my windows after removing the spots from the windows, you can see little white "dents" in my windows as if you would have from little rocks. i dont have a clue what caused this... anyone know a solution for my problem als polishing it does not help i tried to take pictures where you can see the problem but its very hard to see on picture,it looks alot worse then the pictures show |

I am an auto detailer and I've seen this before, its called rail rust. It's rust particles froma nearby metal object that is rusting. Get your car professionally detailed ASAP.

Don't take it to be detailed at a dealership, besides a few guys that worked at shop before, they aren't the best detailers. And avoid chains like Zebarts since your car needs special attention. Google for auto detailing in your area and go from there. |

And a clay bar is just the first part of removing rail rust. A good orbital buff is needed with special compounds. Check the door sills, trunk, and engine bay. If it was raining recently the rail rust can be washed into there. |

did you park under or around a tree because i once parked my car under a tree after a long day of washing it i come outside theres little spots all over the paint and they looked like little rust spots went and cleaned it immediatley and they were gone, but on my old car i left it under a tree for 2 months while i was gone i come back its covered in them and the only way to get them out was scratching them with my nails and that took forever so they were just stuck on there, but id use clay bar as someone mentioned..

I'd go with a degreaser, try it on a small part first.
Just soak an small area, wait for a couple of minutes and work the spots down with the palm of your hand. That way you get a really good feel for the paint. Use gloves if you think you think there's a need for them, degreaser dry your hands and stings if you have open wounds. Claying and especially polishing takes a toll on your paint, and polishing should only be done on completely clean surfaces. Claying, you could go with that after the degreaser. When you're done claying, polish it. I think you can solve your problem with a degreaser alone. |

hi,thanks for the responses
yes,the car was parked under a tree, but i doubt that's it,its clearly little metal pieces. i work at a welding company, one of the pausible causes i think is the system to vacuum the weld smoke,it also sucks out the little "sparks" when using a disc grinder, that system blows everything outside maybe some of that stuff fell on my car cause it was parked just outside were the "chimney" for that system is will go to a shop this evening and try it with the clay bar before spending a fortune on a shop to do it ill keep you guys updated |
