Got windows tinted, Now Wind Noise?

I just picked my car up from the shop and my windows were tinted. I noticed wind noise coming from near my lock on the drivers side at even 55mph. I inspected the area and the very corner of the door panel was not seated back to where it should be. It was not clipped in correctly. Does this seem to be what would cause some wind noise getting into my interior at 55mph??

It sounds like it could be something simple like that but just take it back to the shop before you mess with it or else they are probably going to blame you for something.

Bingo. The shop shouldn't have done anything but lower and raise the window during the process of tinting but definitely start with them.

I have to go back to the guy after work today. This guy takes off your door panel to get the tint low. Thats why the panel isnt clipped all the way, but i also noticed the window seal looks like the first pic.. dangggg

yes, take it and have it fixed. will run you about $300. the longer you wait, the more rain water will collect inside your door.

you can also do it yourself if you know how to pull your door card (not that hard), the gasket is pretty cheap. get a new gasket asap.

i showed the photos above to the hacks that tinted my windows and they gave me a check for the repair.

Main reason I don't want to get my windows tinted. They take off the panels and fuck things up.

$300 was me bringing it to BMW, pleading with them to get me in asap as we had rain forecast for the week, and them fixing my drivers side door only, with a new seal.

the seal is pretty cheap i want to say it was less than $100, and the door card is easy to remove. If money is tight, id get the estimate from BMW, get the company to pay it in full, then repair it yourself. the door cards are straight forward and the forum will be a big help.

the hacks i initially used, refunded me the full repair bill from BMW and partial of the tint work they robbed me on...

I emailed the owner, was polite, and stated my case, and never asked for a penny. The guy called me, told me he'd refund me, and a week later a check showed up in my mail box.

I'd rather have BMW do a job like this that dictates how well of a seal I get. I just hope this guy is rational when I show him later. I'll keep you updated.
