Key Programming

I have already searched and read every thread I could find on this and have not found any definitive answer. I am new to the forum and apologize if this has already been covered.

I just purchased an 08' 328xi that came with only one key fob. I would like to buy another and can find them on ebay that have been "virginized". My question is what can you guys tell me about the programming process? Has anyone found a place outside of the dealer that does the programming? What kind of fees am I looking at?

Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!

If I recall, if the key is not a CA key you can program it by starting the car with the good key turning off the car taking out the good key and inserting the new key right away then starting the car.
