Does the BMW factory warranty cover AC cabin filters?

Just curious....

I recently checked mine and found it to be filty at just 1.5 years old. Just wondering if this is considered a *covered* maintenance item.

Are these covered? How often should these be replaced?

1.5 years? Wow Replace it 6-12 months depending on where you live!

Yes it is covered as apart of the maintenance. That said, I think I got my one and only cabin filter at 4yrs...

No. Regular maintenance item. Cheap, and can be done in about 5 minutes.

Microfilter cabin filters should be replaced annually or every 15k miles. It should be covered as long as your within the 4y/50k. It is condition based so you have to check your service intervals on your vehicle. Be aware that if it is not due, the dealership will not cover this.

If you'd still like to replace it regardless, check out Amazon for the oem filters for about $30. It's one of the easiest DIY you can perform on your vehicle.

It's not in the CBS, but I believe recommended replacement is every third oil change (so ~45,000 miles going by the CBS OCI).

OP here. Thanks for the info guys thus far....

I haven't contacted the dealer but I have 15000 miles on this 1.5 year old vehicle. I found a good buy on Ebay for this for $28.00 shipped.

I'm super duper anal about changing my house's AC filter monthly. With a car filter being a similar component, one would think these should be replaced often, at least once a year.
