ED pickup and drop off (Fuel Tank Level).

Dumb question but, to those that have done the EuroDelivery.

Since the car will be idle for 6-8 weeks during transport from EUR to USA, how much fuel should be left in the tank when you drop it off for re-deliver?

Does it matter?

Empty or full?

I thought I read somewhere that a full fuel tank is highly recommended for a car that will be idle for a long period of time.

Thank you in advance.

If I can remember correctly it is recommended to have no more than a 1/4 tank for shipping purposes.

A company once had me drive around for a while until the tank was sufficiently empty.

I did a real ED. Full 14 days. No turn in until Monday. Heading to the Nordschleife today for the weekend and probably 4 laps.

when i dropped off my car, i made sure the car was practically going empty...

i managed to turn the car in with maybe 1/2 gallon left, roughly a range of 12 miles left...
it's a new car, you dont have to worry about particles to be filtered in the tank yet... gas is not that dirty...

No matter what the reasons... you guys should not worry about it... this has been done many times over... this is not their first time...

6-8 week is not really that long, and furthermore, your car wont be idle for that long...
most likely you car will be started every other week to move it around... from and to the ship and other mode of transport...

it wont kill your car... you guys are over-worried.. overly concerned...

so let's take the chill pill
