2012 335 half power issue...

Dropped my car off at the dealer today and received a 2012 335i convertible with the sports package as a loaner!! On my 2 hour drive home I decided to try out the 335i's power, doing about 120 kph I pulled out to pass another car and put it to the floor and almost instantly got the half engine power on the display! I pulled over and shut the engine off waited a few minutes then restarted with zero issues, noticed a gas receipt later that evening showing that someone a day earlier put reg gas in the car, would this possibly have caused the engine light? Car has 10,400 kms on the odometer and the outside temp was 26c today. Just curious.......

Duh read! "just curious".......... Is this related to using regular fuel instead of the recommended premium.

Sometimes they go into limp mode for oil temp being too high, boost leaks, a variety of little things that would creep up if nobody loved the car and took care of it!

These cars are really sensitive to regular gas...I always put regular gas in loaner cars and I notice with the direct injection (N20, N54, N55, etc) cars you really feel the engine knocking and struggling.
