Question Who's getting the BMW mouse?

Thermaltake and BMW worked together to build this mouse http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/03/b...ke-level-10-m/

Any takers?

1. It's not offered in wireless, which wouldn't be that big a deal to do.

2. The prouction version completely ruined the design.

The top part was supposed to be an optical scroll wheel and the thing was supposed to be mostly hollow, now it's none of the above and has a regular scroll wheel.

Most manufactuers just don't understand that if you're given a nice concept you can't vastly dumb it down and remove all the cool stuff or it will be abysmal. BMW understands this ideal their concepts for production vehicles are 98% the final car. Their design studies are crazy of course.

Other manufacturers seem to really enjoy coming up with nice concepts then taking those designs and completely mutilating them until the whole feel and purpose of the original design is gone. I'm sure this product will sell incredibly poorly. One day companies might learn.

"I've got a mouse in my car...". Also, when you travel on foot you can keep it in your pocket, so that you can use the pronoun "we" with well justified authority!

I HATE wireless. Changing batteries, slower response times, no thanks ( and I don't even game ). I do agree about the design being ruined.

for a gaming mouse, wired is still the only real enthusiast option.

for $100 you can have your pick of many very good mice. this thing is targeting a very narrow niche indeed.

Yep, you won't really find a wireless game mouse on the market. Good luck explaining to your guild in the middle of a mob that your batteries died... I know most of you will not think that is english though...

No worries on wireless mouse anymore!

Blizzard has build in some lag to counter this problem...

+1

Still a cool idea though. I'm with everyone else - looked a lot better in the original mock up.
