Questions...Please answer.
Hello guys
I am thinking about to order a 2013 335i xdrive. I did some researches in the last two weeks and still have a few questions. I would appreciate if someone can answer them. I want a 335i xdrive with Msrp 59095 and Invoice 54510. (FYI) 1. When we talk about Invoice+$500, is it out of door price? Or I still have to add processing fee, Tax, Title, and etc? Is the price including other types of discount such as the USA Team Incentive? 2. Since I will pay cash, is it an advantage or disadvantage for me? 3. When I order one, how much should I pay before it is deliveried? full amount? 500 security deposite? or whatever. Thank you |

1. Fees are separate from the selling price. The taxes are not negotiable and are added on at the end. The acquisition fee is a standard $725 or so but the dealer can mark that up so make sure to watch out for that. Negotiated price should be before any incentives are applied.
2. Rather than go into a whole argument about investing, it's up to you if you want to pay cash or finance. Personally if I can get a good finance rate (I assume you are buying) I would rather pay monthly than pay up front. 3. Usually there is a $500 deposit unless a special order is made. I had to personally pay $1000 for my custom order but it may vary by dealer. |

For the second question, I wonder if the dealer prefer cash or finance? Let's say, if I pay full amount, are they willing to give me more discount? Or they prefer finance because they can make more money out of it. |

I've heard stories where some dealers won't sell for cash out of pocket since they won't enough money out of the sale. Dealers almost always prefer you to finance.

My understanding is that dealerships don't actually make much, if any, money on the sale of the car. Many people on this forum report getting their car for invoice or just a little above, which doesn't cover the dealer's cost of labor and other overhead. Instead, dealerships make their money through in-house financing, so I don't think the offer to pay cash up front will help you negotiate a better price as it won't increase their profit.

delaers make there money through service. the hours they work on your car get billed to BMW, you dont pay for it but the dealer gets paid by BMW. (if its under warranty) if our car is not under warranty then the dealer really banks(75-180$ per hour)
as for the sales side, CA's make commission and probably a base salary of min wage. But the big money comes from service.
