BMW Performance Delivery: Things to do?

Hi guys!

So, my wife and I are going to the PDC on Thursday of next week and we are planning on staying there until Sunday. I was wondering, are there any nice roads to drive up there? Also, it would be great if you could advise any places to stay, where to eat, and what to do on the SC, NC area?

If you can swing it, stay at the Grove Park Inn, a trully amazing spa in the area which was part of a package BMW offered in the past as part of the 6er driving experience. The towns of Greenville/Spartanburg are very nice as well, there is a nice downtown area where I had caught a minor league ball game too, and other area attractions. There are also beautiful wineries in the area and bed and breakfast places to stay. Do a bit of research and you can find lots to do in the area

You can't go wrong with getting on the Blueridge Parkway for a leisurely break-in scenic drive. Also, the Celo Inn is a very nice B&B north of Asheville. And stay away from the "Dragon" on a weekend, it would be tough to have a poor driver ruin your shiny new ride by getting in over their heads on that road.

I was in the Greenville/Spartanburg area for a business trip a couple of years ago. Other than the obvious factory tour, I agree that downtown Greenville is a really nice place to just walk around. Lots of old brick buildings updated into modern eateries and coffee shops. There's also a Michelin factory store called Michelin on Main which has lots of neat little gifts and memorabilia.

The estate

Take a trip to the Biltmore Estate property. Extremely beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice.

I couldn't agree more! The drive through there is amazing. If you are going to do it, make sure you go on that Friday though. As someone else said, it gets pretty packed on the weekends.

It might be pretty hard to stick to that break in schedule on those awesome roads though.

I'll be there that day too. Look for the nerd with the hot wife.
