Ordered this weekend!

New to the forum,

I wanted to replace my DD('09 VW CC 6mt APR tuned) with a base 328i with a manual.

It was crazy how few were available and all of them seemed to have as much as $14k in options(I love BMW lol).

So I built what I wanted and it should be going into production as we speak.

I ordered a '13 RWD 328i with manual, only options heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and metallic paint(mineral gray metallic).

I am going to do my best to resist modding this car but an intake and tune and some 19's on lowering springs will be hard to avoid.

Congrats! How did you just order heated seats and heated steering wheel? I thought heated steering wheel was not a stand alone option for MY 2013. I had to order the cold weather package to get that.

Thanks!

Heated seats was easy, that was a stand alone option.

The steering wheel is not 100%, as I noticed it seemed to disappear from the configurator. The sales guy said he would make a special request and we would hope for the best.

Yea, heated seats are a stand alone option. for MY 2013 they eliminated the heated steering wheel as a stand alone option. You must purchase the cold weather package.

Let's see if they take any special requests. I am not paying for it either way, salesman was trying to throw it in.

I say my chances are 60/40(don't get it/get it).

I'd say more like 10/90

but congrats on the order. I placed mine last Friday--for week 31 production--which is this week, I just hope it gets out of there before the factory shuts down for 3 weeks.

Congrats. I think you are really going to enjoy the RWD 6MT car as compared with your VW. I had a 2011 A4 base Quattro 6MT and thought it was a good car but the shifter was very much like rubber bands and less mechanical - it really felt like a FWD car. I ordered 328i 6MT sport but have not driven a recent 6MT BMW. I have family members that are VW fans and they laugh at the BMW option packages and costs.

I drove one before ordering.

The CC is modified, lowered, factory 19's, APR stage 2 with exhaust and intake. It's quick and looks amazing. But yep, it's a FWD car which only takes you so far.

They won't do a special request on something that can be normally paid for via the Cold Weather Package.

It (was) more for things like paint/trim/seating/etc. configurations that were not possible/available together.

What you want is available, just something you are willing to pay for.

Try not to cheap out too much... it's a $40,000 car.

LOL-cheap out. Nice.

I have never had a heated steering wheel. Remember seeing it on the site as something to click and it was $100. That is all a novelty like that is worth to me.

I will not think twice to see the car not show up with it.

My goal was the basest RWD 328 with a manual I could get while still having heated seats which even my summer car has.

My favorite car of all time was my 2007 BMW 328i base 6MT RWD. The only option was that I ordered it with was heated seats Jet Black with Beige Leatherette. It was the most expensive car I ever bought and I remember the new car delivery. The 2013's have more features like folding rear seat and auto dimming mirrors. You will enjoy your new BMW.

Just sayin'

..Because I did it once. I had an 335i E92, 6MT, upgraded sound, sport package, leatherette, xenons. It looked pretty but I really regretted not spending the extra cash on leather & nav. Congrats on the order though, you will definitely love it as it is just how you want it to be. Well, besides your steering wheel

Gotcha!

The CC I am coming from has leatherette. I have a dog I put in the back of the car and I already obsess over the condition of my other BMW. 52k later and I am selling the CC with an interior that still reads as new while the leather equipped cars show wear from looking at them wrong.

Again, I love real leather, but for me and my DD I do not see the point in paying extra for something that is going to cause me heart ache as I watch it degrade.

I was just looking to get the 328 to be as well equipped as the CC which came ridiculously well equipped standard. The only thing I had to add was the heated seats. The CC did have Sirius, but since I converted the headunit to the '10+ touchscreen and did not hook sat radio back up I got used to living without lol.

Before and after of the radio swap:

Love me some leatherette lol:

Biggest hazard flasher button EVER.

Jk.. it's probably just the outline of the hazard sign? Hopefully?

Speaking of the CC.. I keep seeing the 2013s around here and I am so, so sad that they don't make them in RWD and w/ Manual transmissions... It would be a serious contender in the sport sedan arena, not sure if they just don't care to compete or are leaving it strictly to their Audi brand..

They look amazing. The lines are very very close to the 6er gran coupe IMO.

I thought about getting a '13 but they diluted the car. I love the back, but the front now looks like a Passat. They also made it a 5 seater which looks like an afterthought.

I got my production #!!!

Drove a Modern line 8spd auto all alone. Nice to wring it out.

CA also tried telling me my TEAM USA discount might not be honored since I ordered the car three days before. I actually have it written on the sales sheet. I nicely explained to him that I am confident he will do what he has to in order to make it right.

Here, I was all excited and this is the message I get when entering my production #:

"Only new vehicles can be added by production number. If your vehicle is currently in production, it is possible it has not yet entered our system."
