You can play from the ipod without the tech package but for full integration iPod integration to see art work etc I believe you need tech package.

Full integration requires either BMW Assist or Nav.

BMW assist comes with the enhanced USB and the Nav doesn't.

In 2013, you can add Nav without getting the whole Tech Package. When ordered individually, the Nav includes BMW Assist.

For the 2012s, BMW Apps was a separate option for $250 I believe. It was not part of the tech package.

Can BMW Apps be added after the fact?
Hi all,
I'm in the middle of purchasing my first BMW (last car was an A4 and this new 3 series waivered my loyalty ). It's a 2012 328i and has the following options below: I notice that it does not include BMW Apps but it does seem to have all the necessary prerequisite options for it. Can this option be added after the fact? I mainly want to be able to have Pandora connect into the car and control it from the car's interface as opposed to the iphones. Thanks.
