On the Talisman ship

Just heard from my CA today that my 328i has now boarded the Talisman on the way to the US to dock at Port Baltimore. He expects it to be at the dealership by September. Looking forward to selling 2011 X3 and returning to 328i.

Wow. Over a month from when it reaches port? I hope he's padding the time to set expectations and it comes earlier.

What did you order? A 2012 or a 2013? Some SAs are mentioning EPA delays. We have all these, "My car is on this or that ship without any details one what they ordered and when.

I ordered on June 21st out of dealer allocation for 2013 with my specs. Specs are 2013 328i rear wheel drive, 6MT, JB/black/.cite, sport, prem, cold, xenon, HK, alarm, all season tires.

Build completion approximately July 5th.

The Talisman arrives in the U.S. on the following dates:

7/23 - Baltimore
7/27 - Savannah, GA
7/31 - Galveston, TX

Appreciate that info. Sounds like my CA was conservative on the date. Looks like an August delivery!

Which selection box do you use to enter your VIN ?

Do not rely on automated system for most up to date info. Speak to a rep.

For the last 5 days the auto system has been telling me that car is in transit to port of exit. Spoke to rep today and car is in port and possibly "loaded". They lose track after car is in port.

At that point, you have to get your info from CA. If CA gives you a ship, you can then track thru shipping line's sytem if they have one.

I put my partial VIN in on the W&W site today and it pulled a Mercedes C-Class from 2009. Ewww.

Hmmm. I think I may be on the Topeka since I'm getting a PCD in Spartanburg, SC. THe Topeka arrives in Charleston, SC on July 31st. I think that's the ship I'm waiting for.
