Has anyone replaced their windshield?
Mine has been cracked since the first few weeks I have owned it but I keep putting of getting it replaced. Getting it replaced by a "windshield" place makes me nervous with the two painted trim pieces that attach to the sides of the windshield as well as the rv mirror having to be removed and reattached. I was thinking of the dealer to get it done to ensure an OEM piece and that it gets done right, but how many can they have done?
Any stories or advice? Jesse |

i had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago. Took it to the dealer and they sub contracted out to another company.
You should be safe having someone else do it, but get the name of a place from the dealer. Here's the thread I started a while back: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5213 |

I had mine replaced because of a defect that I noticed just after taking delivery of the car. They also used a glass subcontractor to come and do it at the dealership. I second 06graphite's suggestion: find out who the dealer would use and use them.

BMW replaced my windshild for free because of a rock chip it received after we only had the car for a few days. It was done at Bob Smith in Calabasas, Ca. and I think their techs did it in house.
