Aftermarket Single Din Stereo Setup

Hey,

Don't see many people with Aftermarket SIngle Din's for the E92. I have the base stereo system, and I'm thinking of setting up the Alpine X305S w/Front component speakers.

What's the best Single Din Bezel? I want it to look as clean/flush as possible. The double din's all come out on the bottom, which make it look sloppy. My friend has this unit on his Maserati Gransport..and the bluetooth audio is superb!!

The reaon is there is little justification for a single din install. The cons offeplacing the oem hu outweight the pros. You could even get BT + 6FL for less than a new HU

What is 6FL? I can get that HU for $260. What is this cheaper option for BT + 6L you are referring too?

You could buy a MULF-hi which gives you usb and bluetooth for around $200. Whats your particular reason for wanting to swap?

Where can I get such a device? Main reason for swapping is obviously for Sound quality, and extra features an aftermarket HU provides. I plan on adding 12'' sub, components, and replace coaxials in the rear.

If you look at various threads and the big sticky, the OEM HU coded to hifi is very high sound quality. Vp has done FR tests on them and has found that unless you are going to buy a $1k head unit, you are better off with the oem hu for sq

Maybe his reason is simply that his car is a late model non-MOST car, which cannot be equipped with to BT by any "MULF-hi". The only viable solution is a replacement HU or an audio-level splice-in device like Parrot. So far I have only seen anecdotal references to any other solutions.

To the OP: What car are you talking about? Year? Model?

Not a great deal of support for doing this in the threads I have read. This individual seems to have had some success. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=674173
