Problems After Updating JB4 Firmware...

So I updated to the new HEX file today on my JB4... got these codes when I went out for a drive...

2F6C Exhaust fumeflap, input signal <-- I have my cable unplugged, this is unrelated (Golf Tee Mod Version 2)
2ABC Charging pressure sensor, electrical
3100 low boost mode engaged -- CEL displayed
29CE Misfirings, cylinder 2
29CC Misfirings, several cylinders
0000 Failure location not implemented
0000 Failure location not implemented
30FF Boost under target -- possible boost leak

Barely made it back to the house. When I updated the firmware it said "Update Compete" so I assumed all was good.

After that, I reinstalled the HEX again, and now it is fine. Ran some data logging as well. I'll attach the JPG, and have the CSV as well but can't upload here. Everything seems to be fine now. I cleared the codes out and tomorrow I will run a code check again, unless I need to go back out and drive somewhere again today.

Question #2 so I don' have to make a new thread. I can't seem to choose some menu options off the steering wheel. I try to select the gauge sweeping, and when I hit volume up or down, it just goes to the next setting, and doesn't save my selection. The same goes for when I try to use "Disable Radio". The other times I try to choose settings, both needles point directly up, and then closes out the menu. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Read the misfire code sticky on this forum. If you need addl help on that you can email BMS but it has nothing to do with your firmware update.

If you need addl help on the JB4 controls there is a whole post on BMS' forum with directions. Each menu goes back to 0 regardless of what setting you have saved unless specified in the wheel controls guide as the default display for that menu. If the gauges are
centering you are picking options off menu 5 which should only be used to setup the dash for 135 or 335.

Yea, menu 5 centers, but with the others I mentioned, when I push the volume button to save the setting, it just goes down to the next speedo number, it doesn't seem to save any of the settings. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean, as I don't see this in any directions I have read off of the N54 tech website. I followed everything word for word as far as I was able to tell.

Kevin,

It seems as though Terry took off that requirement for the new firmware? I saw it a few days ago when I down loaded the new Interface Software and Firmware, but when I went to upload everything yesterday the red text note was no longer on the instruction sheet.

My firmware and Interface Software uploaded fine with no adjustment to the All AFR list and Fuel Loop.

What's your take on this?

that was with 2/7 interface, those instructions were removed with new interface and they were made standard settings with 3/7

I think your getting confused on how to save settings. When you push the volume button and channel button down at the same time you go into the orange light on in screen. The volume control (mph) starts at 0 which is your map settings. Depending on what map you are running you move the channel button up to whatever map you want and then exit the menu meaning press the volume button down all the way. Same goes for the new gauge sweep option. You go into the orange mode, scroll up with the volumer button (mph) to 5 (50 mph) and then move the channel button up to 7 (7000 rpm). Once you have done this press the volume button all the way down and exit the menu to save the setting. It should save with no issues. Make sure you have the car on or in the ACC position which is pushing the start button twice to where you can turn your headlights on. There is probably just one little step your missing so hope these instructions help. You should email Terry if you have any further issues or simply need help finding out how to do something. He has great customer service and responds usually within minutes, not hours. Best customer service I have ever had

Cool, thanks... I will go and try now and see what happens. I feel like I do it the same way you mention, but lets go see what happens this time. Thanks again.
