Following BESS

The BESS should be leaving Bremerhaven today and in route to NY. Arriving on the 11th of April. If all goes according to plan I should be on this vessel!!!

Anyone else think they may be on the BESS?????

I'm hopeful but with only 2 days separating arrival at the port with the departure of the Bess, I really doubt I'm on that ship.

How long have you been sitting at the port? Has your CA told you that you might be on this ship?

I finished production on the 20th and have been at the port for a few days now. My CA hasn't been very responsive to my emails so I'm not sure in all honesty.

I have a feeling this may be my ship, but will have to get confirmation. Production completed on or before March 19.

I've just seen too many stories from people who have sat at the port for weeks waiting for a ship, so it's hard to get too excited about the first one that comes by.

If I end up on a ship on the WW schedule I'm expecting it to be the Porgy which leaves Bremerhaven on April 6th and arrives at the port in Brunswick on April 21. That leaves about 2 1/2 weeks for the vehicle to get from the port to the Performance Center where I am scheduled to take delivery on the 10th.

Any later than that into Brunswick and I may miss my PCD date, which would really, really suck.

I'm hoping that I am not one of those who sits at the port. I have been there for essentially an entire week, so I'm 90 percent sure I will be on this boat. Hopefully my CA has some updated info today or tomorrow.

You got lucky, my car rolled off the line on the 19th but didn't get to the port until a couple days ago. So you might have a good shot at being on this ship then.

My 335i sport should be on this. I have been waiting for 6 days for a boat! I will be sad if not.

Guys, do not freak out if your CA doesn't tell u anything for a day or 2 after the BESS leaves. It usually takes 24-48 hours after the vessel leaves for their system to update with the info. They all (to my knowledge) don't know which vessel the car is schd to be on. They only know once the car is on.

I was pleasantly surprise with mine. I was waiting for a WW boat but I was actually on a K-Line (Bishu Highway) that left 3 days before the next WW. This might be your case too.

Good luck!!!

Ps. I'll post pics once I get mine next week. The Bishu should be leaving Baltimore today and hopefully make it to Brunswick a few hours after.

My dealer told me their system is usually about 12 hours behind the fact. For us, online and the telephone, tracking is indeed 24-48 hours behind. But, there are of course always exceptions to the rule

Confirmed! The tracking site was updated this morning and indicates my car is on board the good ship Bess. She's under way and scheduled to dock at Halifax on April 9! Very exciting.

Actually, that is a lookalike ship... this is the real one:

I agree, the differences is very subtle, but it's there

You can disfigure her shining image all you like, but she'll still make 20 knots across the Atlantic, just you wait and see. And then we'll see who moos last.

lol I know, it's a bit odd but it's a deal I made with my dealer..

Thing is, my current car, the X5, is a lease and normally the lease would end April 7. The new car is scheduled to be at the dealership April 11 (my CA expects it to arrive a few days early). Just a few days in between, not too much of a problem but I do need a car for those days. The registration of the X5 ended today and a new registration would have cost me 453 dollar so I was planning to bring it back today but then I would have to rent a car for the remaining days and that wouldn't be cheap either, so I asked my CA for a solution and kind of let him know I was not happy at all that I had to wait so long for the new car while people on the mainland are already driving in theirs while they were on the same boat as I was.

Now, as a courtesy, my CA arranged with his manager that they will reimburse me the 453 dollar and that I can keep the X5 until my new 3 arrives in Hawaii, even after April 7 if needed. However, as counterpart from my side they asked me to finalize the paperwork (we did this yesterday and I paid yesterday, not when I actually ordered the car) so, this way, it is basically a win-win for everybody

OK I see now... well you'll still likely get your car before I do, island shipping or not.

I see that the WW site says Bess has sailed from Southampton but the marine tracking site shows that she's still docked as of now. Probably one of the services is not updated yet.

After today she'll be making her way across the Atlantic to Halifax! Can't wait!
