vanguard exhaust rubbing the chassis brace.

had the vanguard exhaust installed and the shop told me i needed bigger separators for the chassis brace since the exhaust didnt clear the brace even with the separators supplied by vanguard.

put some more washers under the cross brace bolts to create more clearance.....I had to add 2 extra washers.

did you have to get longer bolts? and did you use the separators that come with the exhaust?

I didn't neet longer bolts for the 2 extra washers, it's like 2mm for both washers. I added the washers in addition to the spacers provided by Vanguard.....No biggie.

i've had to get longers bolts a few times, its either variances in the cars or with vanguard, one car will not need even the supplied spacers at all, and another will need the spacers and 2-5 washers to have the clearance.

remember it IS a chassis brace, so only getting one or two threads threaded in after adding the washers is not acceptable. match up longer bolts if needed

Not a vanguard thing at all, i have AE quad and i had to do this.

I started with 4 washers were it was hitting down to 3 then 2 and 1 to make the transition nice.

Also i have plenty of threads left when installing without even getting longer bolts, you should be perfectly fine. Get under there is do it yourself you will see its so easy.

OP I had the same issue with mine....fixing it makes it sound much better than having it touch that brace.

When I had MAC install my Vanguards, they made custom flanges to extend the pipes as to not hit the xfer case..I didn't like it one but cos in reverse, my car would constantly vibrate.

I had a shop remove the flanges and mandrel bent the midpipe that would rub against the xfer case. No issues at all anymore!

mine is touching a lot to the point where is being pushed up by the chassis brace even with the plastic grommets on, so i probably just need to add separation between the brace and exhaust.
