Angry Lost Boost

I lost boost today. I looked under the hood and saw this.
Before getting on the highway I pressed the throttle and I felt like the car bucked(hesitated) and then I had no boost. Car feels like a Nissan Altima 2.5

Is this the reason? If so, how do I put it back? Car is hot right now so I'll tackle this in the morning.

How did this happened?

Blew your charge pipe off the throttle body. That is 100% the reason. Slide the pipe back, the secure the slide pin.

It's actually pretty common. Just take the top DCI cone off and pop it back on you'll be ok.

Looks like a lot of oil on the TB. I assume you have a LOT of blow by.

Stock CP has a lot of flex since its plastic. Upgrade your CP. It happens over time with high boost.

Don't forget to push that metal pin back down once you get everything lined up.

Yea, I'll do that in a bit when the car cools off now that I know how to put it back.

Thanks

Are the CP that meth kits bring any better?

Check out this link for an after market CP. I personally think this is one of the best CP's because they have two styles as u will c (for pre-lci's and lci's).

The stock CP is fine for the job. I'd say if you're getting in there anyway, just wipe down the inner surface of the CP where it connects to the TB, and make sure the CP is on the TB all the way before installing the C-clip.

That happened to me once, except it was at the CP/FMIC connection, lol. Car made a loud 'pop' noise and freaked me out.....

Haha, I had the same thing happen when I put my new 3" charge pipe on. First time out at 10psi it popped off. I didn't get the clamp secured. More than likely, whoever had the charge pipe off last didn't get it put back on 100% and the wire clip wasn't locked in place correctly. make sure both sides drop into the slot, otherwise it will happen again.

Tune error. The throttle was suddenly closed while the wastegates were closed and the boost was at full on.

The ER is great, I recommend the 2009+ model to all model years because it will fit all of them.

Very true. Why spend more money on an elbow plus have to deal with extra parts. Go 2009+ for sure.

This was just posted in another thread. Check your pipe and make sure the o-ring is still intack and it is not cracked or broken.

You need to ensure you are pushing the CP up the Throttle body as much as possible. I usually squeeze the clamp so its tight before I slip it onto the charge pipe.

IF you have some light you can ensure the slots on the TB and CP line up for the c clip.
