Intake Valves Cleaned

Just had my intake valves cleaned at 52.7k miles by "thread killer."

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, it's all he had access to today.

Before:

After:

Car felt smooth with Cobb's beta 4.00 maps, but now it's like butter. Definitely a must do maintenance task.

interior looks beautiful, good job! Your valves didn't look too bad compared to other posting their bad valve pictures.

In my area, I was quoted $220 using the BG cleaning system (not 100%), indy shop charges $600 by hand cleaning, and local dealer quoted $650 for walnut blasting. I'm trying to find a place that will do a extensive cleaning job for $450ish.

I need this done I am pretty sure. Ive owned my car since 13k and then, I would get 29-31mpg on the highway...its slowly going down to around 25mpg now. Im pretty sure this is the reason. I was quoted $650 by my dealer as well. Im thinking about doing it because I feel its needed more then we think. Would you say there is a bit of an MPG bump? I know it will be MUCH smoother. $650 is just a littttttle more then I would want to spend. Especially if it doesnt quite merit the savings on gas. I have an 80 mile daily commute now (95% of the drive is highway) so getting a nice gain in MPG would be nice. I just turned over 50k this week (but warranty was out 2 months ago)
