Just got word from Tischer- 335iS Exhaust Group Buy!

hey guys,
i bounced an idea off Jason at Tischer, about running a group buy for the 335iS exhaust. for those of you that don't know, this exhaust is noticeably louder and more free-flowing than stock, but significantly less than the bmw performance exhaust. it also has nice black tips. i added it up, with clamps etc., it would be over $800 for the exhaust. tischer (getbmwparts.com) is going to run a special for $699. there should be a special in the vendor classifieds section. just wanted to give y'all a head's up

Here's a link to our specials page on the site where this special is found(all the way at the bottom of the page).

Thanks much, and we'll look forward to some orders for these!

Can someone explain exactly how this differs from the Performance Exhaust?

I've been considering the PE for a long time, but the price is prohibitive.

Also, does the IS version have the flapper valve?

Recently saw a 335is which got downpipes installed that day. Man, is that thing loud! Not too obnoxious under cruise though. Nice price regardless!

Guess I need to hear one in person. The videos I found don't sound too different from our exhaust w/ the golf tee mod.

If that's true, the golf tee mod is a whole lot more cost-effective than spending $699 + install for new mufflers.

The pe is supposed to be a subtle change, so if this is quieter than the pe then I really cant see it being worth 700+ shipping+ install.
Has anyone on stock dps put is mufflers? Any review?

They'll fit but the tips will stick out. Might need to cut them off and re-weld them or get different tips.

I don't understand how this exhaust can be half the price of the PE.

Because its a production part not a bmw performance line part.
The is exhaust is basically a stock muffler with some of the packaging removed (i think)
Anyways what do you guys think would sound better (only sound wise not performance) the is exhaust or catless downpipes with the stock exhaust??

I have the PE and drove a 335is. If you r going to spend money to upgrade your exhaust then u owe it to yourself to hear them both. That being said IMO the PE hits the enthuasiust where he wants to be. If you hear the PE and think its too loud I guess the 335is exhaust will fit the bill. Btw the golf tee mod is a waste of time IMO.

How different were they in overall loudness, obviously cruising the pe is louder since the is has the flap but did you floor it to hear how it sounds? How does it compamre to your pe?

I don't get why you would spend that much on a stock exhaust in the first place...

I wouldn't really call the PE subtle, it's actually very noticeable when you want it to be.

You can easily tell the difference between the PE and IS in terms of how loud/aggressive they get up top and from the popping and gurgling of the PE.

How about PE group buy? there is a noticeable difference with the PE. The exotic sound is much more pronounced, gurgling, burp, burp sound on deacellration is intoxicating
