335i vs EVO9
All runs conducted in mexico..
e92 335i 6mt w/ Driver and 1 passenger -- JB4 (Map3), WW Meth Kit,35 additive, 60/40 mix, 93 octane, RR ******* DP's, Muffler Delete, BMS DCI, ER Chargepipe/Synapse BOV EVO9 Driver and 1 Passenger -- All he told me was he was running E85(so new injectors, pump etc.), had bolt ons and cams..a tune and running 27PSI Did several 60mph roll runs, me in starting in 3rd..he pulled about a car on me every run(no more than)...didn't get a chance to do any 4th gear 80mph pulls maybe i would've hung better..who knows..not really sure what other mods he has but it was def quick as hell i thought i would have had him..maybe if i run 109? Low quality cell phone videos to come shortly...evo had a go pro so ill post those up as soon as possible as well Last edited by seetully; 03-16-2012 at 11:53 PM.. |

Wow, E85 Evo's are scary. I'm going to run my buddy's Evo 9 with bolt-ons and a tune, hopefully I'll keep up and give him a run for his money

You can never under estimate an EVO. With minimal mods and a good tune, they turn into a beast. I had an EVO IX and with E85, pump, injectors, IC, exhaust and a completely stock long block and turbo, I ran a 11.3 (street tires). And I was a granny shifter...hahahahaaha. Someone posted the video on youtube. It was sweet to actually watch it. Oh and my friend ran a 10.7 on the exact same setup as mine. I wished I would have tracked it after I fully built it and it was aprox 700 hp
I can't wait to get started with my 135i ***edit**** Oops I have to correct the above. Stock turbo was in the mid-high 11's. The low 11-high 10 was with a 35R but still stock long block. Last edited by Todd135i; 03-17-2012 at 08:22 PM.. |

The thing with Evo's is that you never know whats under the hood unless you know what to look out for. There are so many stock appearing turbo upgrades for that car which will completely transform it. Here is a video of an Evo with a stock appearing turbo on e85 against a cammed z06 lol:

Do yourself a favor, get some 93 octane and run a 60 additive, much quicker. If you can throw a few gallons of E85 in the mix it helps big time now that JB4 auto-tunes map 3 boost down you kind of need some higher octane in there once you up the additive psi.
Tons of evo's around here, I'm not a fan of the newer ones but absolutely love the evo 8. Most are slow here, nobody is putting tons of $ into them so it's intake/exhaust crowd and those are easily walked (low 13 to high 12s 1/4 mile). |

You do FBO, FP Black, Cams and meth you can make nearly 500WHP on an evo 9. And it will appear stock. My buddy had one with a built motor literally making 500/500 thing was nasty.

From personal experience I had a run in with an Evo 9, FBO, Cam, Stock turbo and I edged him out but it took me from a 40 roll till about 100 to pass him. I was playing catch up the entire time. Any highway run rule is always 100 MPH... 40-140. 50-150. ETC (around here anyway).
My mods were intake/tune/Methanol. Boost was approx 17-18 PSI tapering to 15 by redline for me. |

My friend also had an Evo 9 that he recent sold running E85 made well over 600whp (Fully built motor, custom ball-bearing FP Black, custom built Shep 6-Speed MR trans, the whole 9 yards). Recently sold it to some lucky cat in Queens/Bronx. Car was an absolute bitter animal. ---Found more info--- 4G64 2.4L w/ FP Black Ball Bearing 10.5:1 Compression. Aluminum rods. Built 6 speed w/ Final drive upgrade. Tuned on pump 27psi. Dyno jet 560whp/500+lbs tq On E85, well over 600whp at over 30psi Full mod list: http://forums.evolutionm.net/8712264-post1.html I MISS IT :-/ |
