Perhaps some sort of adaption/ learning. As long as it is okay how you should be fine. If you want to be safe you can always log and send it to terry

Significant changes to your system (changing maps and changing DPs) may require adaptation, 3 WOT runs (3rd gear run all the way out) and you're set. Since the problem went away quickly, that's almost assuredly all it was.

Ecu needs to adapt to less back pressure, once adapted it will have less lag.
That is why running electric cutouts is stupid, opening them for a race doesnt give the ecu any time to adapt.. |

ok so now im having the problem again....the car pulls hard until 3rd gear...gets 14psi and then falls flat after about 60-70 and wont get more than 9psi....ive done a dozen pulls thinking maybe its learning but since its still doing it i dunno what to do....any other ideas? plugs? or dirty valves? what causes boost lose all of a sudden? seemed to pull harder without downpipes...

The JB4 switches to map 4 for various safety reasons like over boost, run lean, excessive knock detection, etc. In your case since you just put downpipes on I'm guessing it's the run lean protection. Normally triggers after downpipe installs if an o2 sensor is damaged or mixed up. An exhaust leak could also cause it.
