Exclamation New Zealand gets RIPPED, M3 pricing...

Hey Guys

Well, it official as of 7 June 07'. The new M3 is priced at $169995 ($128500 US dollars)!!

And if you want 19's and the variable suspension thingy it will cost you $181900 ($137500 US Dollars)!!

Holy Sh*t we get ripped on euro cars here, and that with our exchange rate at an all time high.

What do you think about that?

cheers

I must assume taxes play into this a great deal, right? So, you might want to blame your government. Condolences...

How much does a bottle of beer cost in Norway in a bar? (I have a cousin who lives there, and he constantly complains about buying drinks in a bar...)

As with the US it depends on where you go; but 0.4 liter is around 9 USD in a bar, more if the place is popular. Drinks often s tart at 12.5 USD. - There are cheaper places of course, but those places normaly have _lots_ of ice cubes in the drinks...

It is not about taxes. It is about a country's GDP (gross domestic product(s))export to import ratio. The more a country imports and the less they export determines the value of their currency and foreign exchange rates. Meaning if you import a hell of a lot more than you export your currency will devalue and provide less buying power hence the reason for the high cost of any import. If export prices are low conversely import prices will be sky high which has long plagued New Zealand.

Also factored in are how many units any given import will sell in any area which will drive the price down simply through volume. New Zealand and Australia are completely surrounded by thousands of miles of water meaning a finite number of units that can sell equating to still higher prices.
