Has anyone painted the rear reflectors on the bumper?

Just wondering if it's necessary to take off the rear bumper in order to paint the rear reflectors. I've got my front reflectors painted when I first got my M a year ago but left the rear ones there. Recently I saw a couple pics of someone's M-coupe with painted rear reflectors on another forum, and started thinking about getting them painted on my M as well.

TIA.

Been there, done that.
I managed to do it by unfastening part of the wheel liner for access.
It was a real PITA to re&re though!

The rear reflectors snap/twistlock into place; not like the fronts.
There is VERY little room to work, but I managed.

It may be better to just remove the bumper.
Definitely easier to mount & maybe quicker too.

I removed the bumper when I did mine. I ended up not liking it so I had them filled in.

Definitely the best way.
You had the perfect opportunity when you did the diffuser.
We would have if you didn't

Did you fill the fronts???

Man! You guys are like gods to me... such attention to detail! It never would have crossed my mind to go to the effort to do such a thing. I admire that you love your Z so much you'd want to perfect it.

But speaking of attention to detail, I never noticed before seeing that pic that the rear reflector actually follows the countour line of the body frame like that. Remarkable!

Sure what they're doing looks better, but now they can't safely go trick-or-treating on Hallowe'en. Those reflectors save lives!

Yes there is a bulb.
I actually bought replacement reflectors, which I painted.
The OE I left intact, tywrapped to the inside of the bumper.

Thanks for the replies! I was wondering where my thread went not realizingit was moved.

inTgr8r, do you by any chance have the instructions to remove the rear bumper or the rear wheel liner?

Anyone got a solution to the front reflectors? They stick out like a sore thumb now that I changed out my sider marker bulbs to chrome/ambers

Or go all out and swap on a Euro bumper. I think Ron Stygar went that route...

Did he actually do it?
IIRC it was hella expensive.

I was seriously considering picking up a couple of skins & filling them.
I'd loose the washers up front too.
