New IDrive Controller Retrofit

Hi,
I will retrofit the first gen Navi Controller knob to the new gen controller. I’m aware they sell a retrofit kit for around $450..
I will like to buy an used Controller Knob and retrofit the trim piece (first gen).
Anyone has the new generation trim piece and post picture for top and bottom area. I will like to see how the controller knob meet with the garn..
I don’t know if anyone did this already, if not I will post pictures and share my retrofit.
For the controller knob, here is the one I’m planning to buy, let me know if anyone thinks this project will not work.

Anyone knows if I can buy just the CIC Idrive bezel that goes in the Center Trim? I want to use and retrofit the CCC Trim instead of buying a new onel.

I have some vacuum forming tools, I'm willing to create a mold out of the Idrive bezel if someone is willing to borrow it for a few days. If not I may have to do a custom work to create a mold..
