UUC Short shift kit for the Z4

Well, I got to ride in a 2.5 roadster with the UUC SS and the driver looked like he was having a lot of fun. I got to stroke the gears quickly and it did feel very short and tight, yet somewhat notchy. I passed up the offer to actually drive the car (what a mistake!), but my minds been on this ever since. Is anyone running with the UUC SS kit and if so, how do you like it? Pros/cons? Thanks

Oh good grief, I can't believe you denied the opportunity to drive it!

And your picture is coming up as an 'x'. It could be my comp. though...I'll try again.

I went with the simpler alternative of a ZHP shift knob from Leather Z. It's a bit shorter than the standard shifter and gives the same effect.

An SSK is a bit more involved than that....
but I agree the ZHP is a good & easy alternative.

I did the same & have no desire for an SSK

The sport button gives you shorter throws as well.

I thought the sport button affects the engine programming. How could it physically affect the throws?

I cant find the ZHP knob on LeatherZ only the original M knob and the leatherz modified M knob as well as the lighted variants couldn't find the stubby ZHP knob.

P.S: The LeatherZ modded lighted shift knobs are hot :P

Unhappy

It was there yesterday. I was looking at it and considering buying one. Today it's gone.

I wonder if they are just reorganizing their web site or if they no longer are offering it. The link in my browser history from yesterday still points to the comparison picture on leatherz website, but the product information/ordering page generates an error.

They might be out. I ordered mine because someone posted on Z4um that supplies were getting low, and that was months ago.
