Jb4 with stock bypass on
My car feels unsmooth (jerky is too harsh) upon acceleration in stock bypass mode. Almost like its lunging as I accelerate. map 1 and 2 are smooth as silk. I have dci and dp\'s. Anyone else experienced an almost rhythmic pulling sensation upon acceleration? I can try and get a video tomorrow. Car is 07 e92 with 70k miles. It did not do this with the jb4 out and stock air box. Going to switch out dci with air box tomorrow to see if that\'s the issue. Otherwise I suppose I have something wrong with my engine. Any advice is appreciated.

On map 0 the JB4 is in bypass mode, so its likely your DME complaining about the downpipes and intake. As long as its running normally on a JB4 map I doubt you have any real issue.

Terry said my logs were ok but said my waste gates were tight. I'm getting more waste gate rattle since installing dp's. Is the rattle just an annoyance or is it something worth fixing. Could bad spark plugs cause the oscillating, lunging feeling on stock?

When the car is misfiring and running really bad, My butt dyno told me about 50hp. Once the car stopped misfiring after spark plugs. it was like i installed the tune for the first time.

Did you notice what the old plugs looked like? ie carbon build up, electrode degredation?

I had about 55k on the original plugs and the electrodes were degraded. New plugs transformed the car again into the way it was before. |

Consider a replacement Valve Cover Gasket (#11127565286). I was getting misfires, replaced my spark plugs & my #3 plug was in similar condition: slight coating in oil, but not dripping (which would indicate a very bad leak). My mechanic recommended the replacement gasket.
I'm going to have my intake valves blasted next month & will be replacing the gasket at the same time to avoid getting hammered with additional (and unnecessary) service hours. As for Ignition Coils, IMO it makes the most sense to replace all 6 at the same time (and the same w/ spark plugs) since after one fails, the others will follow shortly. |
