Dyno'd my 335i today.
Dyno'd my 335i today. Its stock and I wanted to get a good baseline.
The dyno I use is a AWD Dynojet 424Linx (Linx means the rollers are connect with a belt, but its still not a loaded dyno). Could have dyno'd it on the 2wd dynojet, but I wanted the front wheels spinning so the car was happy (dont know how much it matters though). I decide to post uncorrected, SAE and STD charts. Enjoy.

Good stuff. I really regret not doing a baseline... I was too much of a n00b...

#s look right for stock. Now you just need a tune... PROcede or JB4 if you're looking to make some big numbers. COBB if you want to keep it simple. What ever you decide on, have fun and enjoy the ride.

Ill be doing dyno pulls when I install the AP and I will be on the dyno, tuning the car, they day they release ATR. Since I have full access to a dyno, I was thinking of getting multiple tunes and doing a shootout. Just dont know if its worth the effort, money and mostly, dealing with the flame war that will happen when I post the thread or the complaints about the testing ie "you didnt drive each tune and let it adapt, etc, etc" Maybe if each company was willing to supply their tuning product (I'd return them after testing of course), Id be much more inclined to do the "shootout".

Most of the vendors have a return policy. Just call them up and let them know what you're doing. I'm sure they will give you a break on the time-line. Enjoy... Bolting on a new part or tune and seeing how much power you gain for each would be way too much fun... |

All the popular tunes will pull about the same numbers peak. Cobb and PROcede will likely pull an almost identical powerband. You can only pull so much power out of a tune only car.

The numbers look good for a stock car. I'm somewhat nearby if you ever want a ride in a upgraded turbo/fbo/meth car. Or I could just come up and hang out at the Sierra Nevada brewery all day.

Hey man i just stumbled across your Dyno #s because im thinking of getting a 335i
the funny thing is, i have a 2005 Evo that i would have to sell to get the 335i, and i noticed you also own an Evo. im having a really hard time with the idea of sellin the Evo, but at the same time the 335i is just so appealing to me. i was really hoping you could give me some insight since you own both cars and seem to have the same exact taste in cars as i do (i had an s2000 before the Evo). also my Evo is very similar in Horsepower to yours, mine is 405WHP/405WTQ right now, so what would you do if you could only have one? |

^ If I could only have one, I would not like life. Because I need them both, lol.

I have a 335i and an 335is and even the is will not beat an evo with full bolt-ons and a tune. I just wanted to throw that in there so you know from the onset what to expect. The evo is so much more of a "tunable" car ie injectors and E85 than these BMW's. So, advantage to the Evo in a straightline and we all know its ability at the circuit? It has to be one the best handling cars ever made. The BMW is certainly no slouch in the power and handling department and its comfort and features and overall build-quality are something the Evo could never compete with.

Trust me when I tell you, " you could do a lot worse than a 335i". After selling my Evo IX, it did not take me long to miss the raw performance of an evo. I gave the Evo X a minutes consideration and after going for drive in one, I'm glad I picked the BM.

Well with Shiv's Turbo kit I think the N54 is going to be pretty damn fast..
585whp so far at 20psi, and you still have all your luxuries. And it's still in beginning stages.... |

Absolutely! The n54 is in its infancy compared to other platforms. One reason is bmw makes it very difficult for anyone to mess with their cars and the other being that the market demand is not as high as other platforms. Also and just my obseravtion is that most bmw owners don't give 2 shits about performance upgrades.
