Gaskets at turbo to downpipe reusable?

What's up fellas, finally going to install my iCarbon ceramic coated DP's after having them sitting around for a little over a year lol and i was wondering if the gaskets at the turbo to the downpipe are reusable or should i buy new ones for the install? Thanks in advance!

#3 in diagram for reference

Always replace gaskets. You don't want problems later

I don't think aftermarket DPs use that gasket. It just clamps with the v-band.

I just did turbos, I replaced the turbo to DP gasket with a new OE gasket. The gaskets that connect the downpipe to the exhaust are a must though.

Unless its worn away, I wouldn't worry about it. I've done and redone by DPs about 4 times, and by then it was beginning to show signs of wear, after flaking so much. I'll probably replace that packing when I do them again.

I installed my new AR DPs last weekend and only replaced the gaskets from the DPs to midpipes.

You can get away with reusing those gaskets at least once or twice.

Do those turbo to DP gaskets usually stick to the turbo? I just did DP's and I don't remember seeing those gaskets. I'm assuming they stayed on the turbos without me realizing it.

Actually, there's a groove in the turbo housing that holds them. They should not stick to the DPs at all.

If they are sticking to the DPs I would probably replacement. Otherwise just leave them in and you can reuse them. I had my DPs on/off several times, no problems.

You can re-use them typically.

Only ones I would trust to re-use are your AR Bomb-proof gaskets.....OP pick some up to replace #6.

Sorry, should have been clearer - you typically can re-use the turbo to downpipe gaskets. Always replace your downpipe to exhaust gaskets.

Reuse if they did not split in half when the DPs were removed. I had a set of gaskets ready when the my AR downpipes were installed. The original gaskets were fine, but I still insisted on replacing them. Cheap insurance against exhaust leaks.

Thanks guys. I'm assuming they stuck in the turbo flange groove then as they for sure didn't fall out and they're not on the OEM DP's.

This is weird I saw this thread bc I just did my downpipe install a couple days ago..I even went to the dealer to buy new Vband clamps..But I never even noticed a gasket on the turbo side and never even put one in?

Maybe it melted?? I looked in my stock downpipe and still dont see anything..This is tripping me out

Its fibreglass it wont melt. It has its own seat on the turbo side flange, chances are it was seated in there and u didnt look twice at it.

Ill check again when I get home tonight..You are most likely right

Will the turbo side leak if the gasket is not there?

You'll be fine. I didn't see mine either when I installed my AR DPs last weekend...

Until this thread, I didn't even realize there was such thing as a gasket for a v-band flange! I've installed numerous turbo's, exhausts and headers and 100% of them didn't have a gasket at the flanges.

This.

I've done DP installation over 10 times and have never had the gaskets come out of the groove in the turbo housing. I would not replace those unless they are cracked or flaking away.
