OEM Charge Pipe Difference? 06-08 vs. 09-10???
I have an '07 N54 and I don't have a 'sound baffle' on my OEM charge pipe. According to Evolution Racewerks website http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/node/53 my charge pipe should not be 'capped off' and should have extra tubing on it. Anybody have experience from their own charge pipes?

MY09, SOME of the build dates have a one-piece charge pipe. I know my 01/09 build 2009 335i had a two-piece charge pipe. I know definitely for certain the MY10 335i has a one-piece charge pipe. It's easy enough to tell on your stock charge pipe before you purchase.

I also don't know what they mean by 'one piece.' Mine looks like the 'one-piece 09-10' picture, but mine AND that picture show 2 separate pieces (hard plastic and soft silicone 'elbow'). The '2-piece 06-08' looks no different where the elbow attaches. There is just a one-time-use clamp holding them together. I know all this because I installed the AR meth elbow and had to cut that clamp.
Their page makes no sense to me either |

Weird, that's the first time I've seen that "baffle"...

The 1-series cars have a box off the intake pipe to generate noise. I kid you not! The same goes for the Z4 with M54 3.0L engine. BMW thought they should make them sound more 'sporty', and the box is literally only a noise generator. I've only seen them on 135s so far. Not sure about the Z4 3.5is or S-drive, haven't seen under the hood of one of those, yet.

So now the question is, is the only difference between the 335 and 135, or is it dependent on model year? |

So based on the people posting in this thread and their experience, I am going to make the claim that 335's DO NOT come with the 'baffle' while 135's do. Is Evolution Racewerks dead wrong?
Can anyone refute that statement? I haven't found any evidence otherwise on any forum. |
