We at Sonic MS are proud to present a revolutionary new type of wheel spacer that is now available to the BMW community.

Precision milled in the United States out of T6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum, Verstraβe (pronounced Verstrasse) weight optimized wheel spacers utilize an industry first pentagon shaped design in order to minimize weight without sacrificing the structural integrity of the spacer itself.

Furthermore, Verstraβe's Motorsport Technik Wheel Spacers for BMWs utilize machined pocketing in order to further minimize unpsrung weight for maximum performance.

These spacers also use chamfered edges to allow for easier removal and are anodized in a matte silver finish for additional strength and corrosion resistance.

Verstraβe spacers are machined with surgical grade precision utilizing tolerances within 1/1000th of an inch, this guarantees a perfect fitting spacer that is hubcentric and virtually eliminates any risk of vibration issues. In addition, Finite Element Anaylsis (FEA) simulations are run to ensure the weight optimized design of the spacers does not sacrifice structural integrity.

Wheel spacers are used to give a car a wider stance, which increases lateral stability in addition to giving the car a more aggressive stance. Stock suspension and wheel setups are fairly conservative in regards to the amount of gap between the wheel and the fender, and wheel spacers help correct this by pushing the wheel towards the fender well, filling the gap.

Each Verstraβe Motorsport Technik Wheel Spacer set includes matching extended lug bolts which are dacromet coated in an OEM black finish for corrosion resistance.

Features:
  • Machined out of T6061-T6 aircarft grade aluminum
  • Hubcentric fitment with surgical grade precision tolerances - guaranteeing no risk of vibration issues
  • Spacer design subjected to FEA analysis to ensure safe structural integrity under load
  • Unique Motorsport inspired pentagon shaped design further optimizes weight reduction in comparison to traditional rounded spacers
  • Anodized in a matte silver finish for additional strength and corrosion resistance
  • Gives your car a wider stance and improves handling and appearance
  • Includes matching set of dacromet coated extended wheel bolts

Verstraβe Motorsport Technik Wheel Spacer Package Includes:
QTY 2 - Weight Optimized Wheel Spacers
QTY 10 - Extended dacromet coated wheel bolts

Here is a quick picture evidencing how much material is physically saved from a traditional rounded wheel spacer. As you can imagine, this would result in a pretty significant amount of weight savings when you get to double digit millimeter thickness.

Weight savings sure, but less surface friction area between the wheel and hub. Not sure I get this design.

Our spacers were inspired by OEM BMW Motorsport Spacers...a tried and true design.

It should fit without any issues with stock wheels and stock suspension but I would recommend manually measuring utilizing the below method to be 100% sure. This is due to variations of tire brand/sizes, suspension, etc...

Next chance we get a 1M Coupe in here to do spacers, I will make sure to post specs and before/after pics!

Gentlemen,

The moment of truth has arrived.

First test was done on a typical shipping scale, measured in lbs.

Traditional Rounded Wheel Spacer - 15mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 1.0 lb

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 15mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 0.6 lb

Traditional Rounded Wheel Spacer - 10mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 0.6 lb

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 10mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 0.4 lb

Traditional Rounded Wheel Spacer - 5mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 0.2 lb

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 5mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - N/A (scale not sensitive enough to record such light weight)

Note that this kind of weight scale is not the most ideal for measuring items that weigh less than 1 pound.

As such, for the next test - we performed on this more sensitive scale, measured in ounces.

Traditional Rounded Wheel Spacer - 5mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 4.5oz / 0.28 lb

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 5mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 2.8oz / 0.175 lb

Traditional Rounded Wheel Spacer - 10mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - N/A (spacer weight end result out of available range on this particular scale)

Fortunately, the Verstraβe spacers in 10mm / 12mm / 15mm were light enough to be measured on this scale, so without further ado - here are the rest of the results!

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 10mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 6.075 oz / 0.379 lb

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 12mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 7.495 oz / 0.468 lb

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 15mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 8.925 oz / 0.557 lb

And here are a few more pictures detailing direct comparison of the traditional rounded wheel spacer versus the Verstraβe Motorsport Weight Optimized Wheel Spacer.

Here is one more example. This time we used a cheap 15mm spacer one would commonly find at the local wheel/tire shop.

Traditional Rounded Wheel Spacer - 15mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 1.2 lb

Verstraβe Motorsport Wheel Spacer - 15mm 5x120 72.56mm CB
End Result - 0.6 lb

That is savings of over a half pound per spacer. That is a total weight savings of 2.4 lbs for all 4 wheels, a rather significant amount of rotational mass shaved off.

well here she is.... finally collected from my moms garage and back home with me at my house, i sure do miss all the garage and drive space :-)
so i installed these new verstrasse ultralight-weight spacers and im literally blown away by their quality, these are 10mm spacers and compared to my Eibach 12mm spacers were talking LESS than a quarter of the weight, infact i couldnt get my scales to get a number on these!! very very pleased with them!! The reason im swapping to a 10m spacer is on my et32 upfront under Super extreme conditions at the track i can just and i mean JUST glance the inner plastic fender, as this is unacceptable to me i dropped the 12mm spacer to a 10mm to get an ET34, looks identical to the eye but will stop this happening, also its nice to have spacers that weight literally nothing, like a few sheets of paper light.... The quality is nothing short of perfect either, BMW Motorsport in the GT division use these pentagon shaped units as well as your losing ALOT of material!!

here is the car and the spacers :-)

old eibach spacers

new pieces

installed

wheel clearance is alittle tight for my liking but ok... will need to keep an eye on this....

The extended bolts we provide do not utilize locks. Beedub supplied his own stud and lug kit, you should PM him if that's what you are referring to.
