Should I change the colour of my wheels?

I’m currently sitting on the fence as to whether I should change the colour of my wheels on my Alpine White 1M?

I’m thinking of having them professionally finished in Satin Black (the same as the M3 GTS wheels pictured below). However I can’t decide if it’ll ruin the look of the car or actually look really good?

For reference, I’ve got black grills at the front, so the only silver shiny part left on the car is the exhaust (which I’d never touch) and the wheels.

Thoughts?

do it! satin black looks awesome. (It's not a 1m) but I refinished my stock 135i wheels in satin black and they turned out great!

I'd do it, as long as the coating is done right, it should look great.

IMHO stay stock. Unless you are going to add a bunch of CF and other black accents such as a CF front lip spoiler, CF rear diffuser, CF rear deck lid spoiler, CF mirror caps, black side turn indicators, black kidneys and possibly a black or CF roof it doesn't look nearly as good as the M3 on black wheels.

I actually like the white wheels. Might get sick of them after a month though...but would be in the consideration as much as black.

A lot of people like having a bit of contrast. Black isn't my all time favorite for wheel colors but I've seen plenty of good examples to know it can work out well. I think maybe a dark gloss anthracite would look cool.

I say do it. Satin black looks amazing. I thought it was just black, but after seeing the second post, looks great. You should go for it!

Thanks but the above photo isn't satin black is it? Satin black does look quite different (see second pic on this thread).

I'm still sitting on the fence but will probably go ahead with it

Being the owner of said car above I can say that the couloir should be as per the below. I had the wheels painted before delivery by the BMW Australia dealership in the BMW owned paint shop. One would hope they got it right.

7 months on still love the color and the contrast with AW.
