19 inch Wheel and Tire Fitment on 2011 328 xdrive- Sorry I know its been covered

Hey i have been trying to find the answer on the forum for the last little bit without much luck.
Do you guys mind helping me out with a quick question, I want to buy a set of VMRs from a buddy of mine and they are 19s they are 8.5 in the front and either 9.5 or 10 in the back, he's not sure what they are but knows they are staggered
the tires are 235/35/19 in the front, and 255/35/19 in the back
i have a 2011 e90 328 xdrive
sorry to ask i know this has been covered im just lost when it comes to tire and rim sizes

he originally posted them here if it offers more help:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=566950

He's making me a really good price so im wondering if i should grab them

Thanks for any help you can offer

offsets look ok. should be fine. usually though on an 9.5" rear you run 265, not 255. If the price is right go for it.

Those tire sizes sound like an Xdrive explosion waiting to happen, are you sure those are the correct sizes you posted? The back should be a 265/30/19 or 275/30/19? Just don't want you to have to pay $3300 for a new awd system.

Actually, 235/35-19 and 275/30-19 is what you should run. Because the XI is all wheel drive you want to keep the rolling circumferences the same. The 235/275 combo is more advised.

.35 x 245=85.75mm and .3 x 275=82.5, a 3.25mm difference

where

.35 x 235=82.25mm and .3 x 275=82.5, only a .25mm difference.

Really though, a 235 and 245 don't make any difference but I like to play things safe when possible.

You can not run those tire sizes because you're likely to put extra strain on your transfer case. With the xi suspension, you want to keep the difference in rolling diameter between the front and rear wheels lower than 1%. The setup you listed is near 2%. You'd be better served with a 235/35/19 275/30/19 set up.

BMW said to go with 225/35/19 in the front and 255/30/19 in the back. Would that work?

that sounds like an 8" rim up front and an 8.5" in the back though.

Go to Tirerack.com, pick your front and back tire sizes in 235/35/19 & 275/30/19. It will show all of the tires of each brand in that size. There should be a specification (Spec) link below the tire size combo. If you clink the link, it will show the rev per mile per front to back. Continental Extreme Contacts, Yokahoma S. Drives & General G-Max have identical revs per mile front to back. NOT ALL TIRES ARE CREATED EQUAL!!

Yes...that is what BMW uses..but harder to find down the road..

I would suggest 19's 235/35/19 265/30/19 or 18's 225/40/18 255/35/18

275's on the back can rub...and will rub if you ever decide to drop it....been there , done that.
