Aftermarket head unit
I want to fit an aftermarket head unit (Alpine P005) into my E90 3 series without I-drive. I know that there are two add on modules available in the UK:
The first will take care of the rear parking sensors off of the canbus via a buzzer rather than the speakers. The second takes care of the steering wheel controls via the canbus. However neither of these take care of the information such as time, service and Fuel consumprion information that seems to be controlled by the head unit??? Basically what will happen to the screen on the dash board where this info is normally displayed and will it hose my car? Does anyone know what issues I wii see of if there is a way round this?? Thanks............... |

Hi, I used the module from www.soundlinx.co.uk. Have a look they are head unit independant. The head unit I have used in a P005 DVD screen from Alpine. It's only been out for abou a month.
