Help!! Bmw E90 2008
Hello. My first post, this one, as I just bacame a proud owner of a BMW.
I have one question about the factory amplifier. Are all E90 pre wired, so we can install a factory amp? I have access to one, but makes no sense buying it, if no wires are present. Thanks |

For a US car in 2008 there are two choices
You either have Hi Fi or Logic 7 called top Hi Fi
both have amps . A base system stereo has no wiring to the trunk as far as I know If you have the Hi Fi system you will have wiring to the trunk. Hi Fi has normal analog connections to amp in the trunk Logic7 has a Fiberoptic connection to an amplifier in the trunk http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=407085 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1266451970 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780865 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780605 For a Euro car with base stereo there may be no wiring to the trunk. |

Thank you very much for your reply.
I have the standard business cd no nav, so I think that I have no wires for the factory amp. It's a shame, I would really like to have it installed. Thank you. |

Technic makes a harness for that.
Its some work to install it though.
There are many examples of installs on the standard system here as its the one that most crys for and upgrade. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=540954 example of technic harness in the above thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ighlight=graph There is also the Alpine upgrade in Europe . BMW sells it and there are some other sources to. Last edited by ctuna; 10-14-2011 at 11:59 AM.. |

Hello again.
I was told that the alpine system, it's very, very, expensive. And the result is not "value for money" But I will check it anyway. The basic sound system on my BMW is terrible. So, for my case, any improvement would be ok. Thanks. |

I thoought that was the Alpine was the cheapes going
I remember seeing it for around 500 US . It looks like you guys
have some extreme taxes on electronics(duties and markups). And its a system that's mostly offered in Europe . Most of the upgrades for the BASE system in the US end up at about 1000$ as a bottom for quality new parts. Some people manage to put something together for less. |

Thanks for all the help.
I think i will follow that advice of spending some money on a good stereo shop. I have talked with some, and they say it's possible to keep the "OEM" look. Will go back some time next week to find out more. Thanks. |
